How Sri Sri Yoga Teacher Training Course began

According to Krishan Verma, the Director of Sri Sri Yoga Training Programs and one of the senior teachers of the Art of Living Foundation, the conceptualization of Sri Sri Yoga began in 2000. “I could feel the brewing of the knowledge of yoga in me,” Krishanji says. “All the knowledge I had heard and read before was becoming so clear to me… It was like an ocean in me had been unplugged… I was also getting a strong inspiration to share this knowledge with others… “ Hence, this very thought brought about the first ever SSY TTC of 16 students. In just four short years, the attendance grew significantly in size to over 200 participants on a recent course in Mongolia.

Sri Sri Yoga Teacher Training Course…

is an Art of Living program which offers an excellent opportunity for those who would like to enrich their experiences and add discipline to their practice; and eventually become Yoga teacher.

Sri Sri Yoga is a prayerful and balanced discipline, a multi-path approach for uniting body, breath and mind with awareness. A combination of gentle and vigorous series of asana is taught for the well-being of the body, while an equal emphasis is placed on techniques for nurturing the mind and spirit. Sri Sri Yoga brings you the wisdom and techniques of yoga in a very joyful, sincere and thorough manner; takes you back to your natural self, thereby nurturing all the virtues that you are born with. Sri Sri Yoga is simple, sweet, and profound. Stretching the body, expanding awareness, quieting the mind - the silence in you becomes bigger.

Become a teacher, first be a good student ……

…………… the second night of the (SSYTTC) course, Krishan said to the students, usually we want to make ourselves big. As teachers we are really learning to be students. When we become teachers we stop growing. This course is about becoming a student. It is about making others bigger. ….. And in those two weeks, the laughter became bigger, bodies became more flexible, knowledge grew. Each student just naturally became bigger. …….
